How about Pyroto Mountain BBS? I think I run the only standalone copy left.

    Hi Nuskooler,

collection of boards that are either running under vintage/unusual/unique software and/or running on vintage/unusual/unique hardware.

    Do you know "CBBS/NV"?
It runs CBBS, the first ever BBS software :)

I wonder if it would run on an RC2014? I had plans to try and get a BBS running on mine, but never got around to finishing that project.

As far as I know it is not "out of the box" compatible with an RC2014 -- because like almost every CP/M program that uses a serial port, it has to
be adapted to the serial chip (eg. SIO/2).
In either the RC2014 or the "retro-comp" Google group, someone asked about porting CBBS in the last weeks - so maybe, there is some development going
    on here.
I suggested to adapt CBBS to the RomWBW serial functions, so the program could run on every hardware and serial chip where RomWBW is running.

So I hope it will be available soon :)

    Regards,
    Anna

I have a syncterm phonebook dedicated to different bbs softwares:

    cNet - Absinthe - absinthebbs.net:1940
    eleBBS - Cyberia - sysgod.org:23000
    Enthral - Haunting the Chapel - htc.zapto.org:23
    Legacy-X - WHQ - legacyx-bbs.com:23
    MBSE - WinterMute - wintermute.spdns.eu:23
PTT2 - Taiwanese BBS - ptt2.cc (Have fun making a user account! I *did* butcould never get to the awesome art I saw in an article somewhere!) Pyroto - Pyroto Mountain - pyroto.mysticmountain.us:8086
    Spitfire - Leisure Time BBS - bbs.riddells.net:10024
    x84 - 1984.ws - 1984.ws (Almost BETTER with just CLI telnet)
    Zues - Hysteria - hysteriabbs.com:23

Late to this thread, but was checking out x84 the other day. What a great BBS package, open source python to boot. Sadly, it's abdandon-ware.

The native, json-formatted RESTful API inter-bbs system (over https) looks pretty amazing...

While they are completely different, and I know that you wrote ENiGMA
from scratch, I really thought ENiGMA was what x84 wasn't.

I had always thought x84 was a system that could be used as a BBS, but
not specifically a BBS? Like you could build on top of it to make what
    you wanted?

I don't know been ages since I looked at it, it didn't do FTN messaging
when I looked, so I kept looking.
