It's also possible to look at the kludges and see the path and seen by lines. It's not always possible to see them but on a Mystic BBS pressing "V" while viewing a message might display those lines, I'm not sure if a certain security

For Mystic BBSes, you can press "V" to view message kludges, e.g.
showing the MSGID kludge. (Most probably other BBS software offer something similar.)
