  • Silly question - QWK download

    What's the process again?

    Select groups/nets via telnet
    ftp connect
    Change to where?
    get filename
    (put wherever locally)
    mm
    ftp upload rep packet

    I seem to remember this, but can't find the old cribsheet Rob or someone posted. Maybe my search foo is getting bad as I age ;) Ubuntu/mm if that helps. No problem scripting it out for automation, I just can't remember the process.

    [Or was ftp for BBS side? I used to carry DOVENet years ago.]

    You don't need to change directory, if that's what you're asking.

    get filename
    (put wherever locally)

    The downloaded QWK file should go in the Synchronet "data" directory.

    mm
    ftp upload rep packet

    I seem to remember this, but can't find the old cribsheet Rob or someone posted. Maybe my search foo is getting bad as I age ;) Ubuntu/mm if that helps. No problem scripting it out for automation, I just can't remember the process.

    I mixed up getting a qwk packet personally and Dove-Net packets when I had my board years ago.

    Can personal qwk be ftp'd?

    Yes, it can. Log into the BBS ftp interface as your user and then GET <bbsid>.QWK or PUT <bbsid>.REP.

    mm looks for it in the mmail/down directory by default. Then when you have saved written messages, the REP packets ends up in the mmail/up directory by default.

    mm

    At the beginning of a second 'putpkt' script, I change to the mmail/up directory.

    ftp upload rep packet

    Then here I change back to the mmail directory, where the two scripts are located.
