    Pressing D in the message brings up the download menu...not exactly what I had in mind. The wiki reference doesn't appear to say how one is to delete a message.

    It depends how you're *viewing* the message in the first place. Did you try hitting '?' to see if that gives a menu and explains how to delete messages?
