I wonder if you have good QWK Reader recommendations that works on
Windows 11? Back then I used Blue Wave and Silver Xpress but I guess
they won't be working with newer PCs now.

I run things under dosbox-x and they work fine. :) Typing to you from
sempoint which is an amazing qwk/bluewave/point program for 16 bit windows. Running it from dosbox-x and a win 3.1 install.

Silver Xpress has some pretty nasty y2k bugs that were not fixed, but
the patched bluewave that's out there works great.

I wanted to be able to run the QWK program right away, so I prefer a native program. But I'd probably try that as well, I missed using BlueWave.

I didn't like SX that much either; I think I used both BW and SX because the BBSes I connected to offer downloading proprietary offline mail formats which were better than regular QWK. BW by far was the best choice back then as long as the BBS had it installed.

    Thanks!

you can make a shortcut and click it and run it right away.

It's not perfect using dosbox, but it works. I created shortcuts for
Sempoint and bluewave that launch dosbox-x and the program I want.

Bluewave was the best choice for sure! I was a huge fan of the format
and used it for years. I'm currently connecting to a synchronet board
and the version of QWK built into sync is the best there is. Long subject lines, etc. Sempoint can deal with threads and the rest of the good stuff
and keeps a local squish database.

... If you didn't get caught, did you really do it?
