They'll still "make" chips, but I imagine they might not own (as many) fabs any more.

It's behind a paywall. Eiter try turning off javascript, or feed the link to archive.ph. The archive.ph method produced a long version of the article for me.

Similarly, it wanted me to disable my adblocker. I closed the
browser, and didn't read the article. ;)
I run into the same thing. If I feel like I have to read the
article, I'll temporarily disable the ad blocker. Otherwise, I
close the window on it.
